A new video released by the Air National Guard’s primary learning center educates U.S. Air Force Airmen on how to write and process awards and decorations.

The short-format video, “How to Write Air Force Awards & Decorations,” is available on demand at the Defense Video Information Service (DVIDS) webpage at: https://dvidshub.net/r/crvfv4.

“This video is intended to help guide you through some of the simple steps you will take to ensure that Airmen receive the recognition that he or she deserves,” U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. P. Christine Shawhan, the video’s featured speaker, said.

The video points out the basics on the award and decorations program, its objectives, Air Force instruction, and general rules. It can be used as a quick refresher as well as a tool for supervisors who want to train others on writing citations.

The video is part of the larger 5-Minute University series from the I.G. Brown Training and Education Center’s professional continuing education team. The series offers skills through quick online lectures that help Airmen learn and improve in some subjects.
