COLONEL EDWIN E. TUHY
Col Edwin Tuhy is the Commander, 173d Medical Group, 173d Fighter Wing, Air Education and Training Command, Kingsley Field, Oregon. Col Tuhy graduated from the University of North Dakota and the Illinois College of Optometry, obtaining his doctor of optometry degree in 1988. He relocated to Klamath Falls in 1999 to join the professional staff of the Klamath Eye Center and has provided humanitarian medical care throughout the world during his entire civilian career.
Col Tuhy joined the Oregon Air National Guard’s 173d Fighter Wing at Kingsley Field in 2002 at age 39 and has been integral in the best air-to-air combat pilots production through fitting of contact lenses and in assisting members in accomplishing laser vision correction. His additional duties have centered on unit inspection and the development, implementation and nationwide
Since joining Kingsley Field, he has deployed in a variety of missions including State Partnership tasking to Bangladesh and Vietnam.
