Lt Col Micah I. Lambert - 173rd Maintenance Group Commander


 Lieutenant Colonel Micah I. Lambert is the 173d Maintenance Group Commander, Kingsley Field Klamath Falls Oregon. The group consists of over 500 airmen responsible for aircraft and equipment readiness in support of over 4,480 sorties and approximately 5,600 hours annually, enabling the 173d Fighter Wing to accomplish its mission of training all Active Duty and Air National Guard F-15C pilots.

Lt Col Lambert enlisted in the United States Air Force and began his career as a Pneudraulics System Specialist assigned to the 15th Special Operations Wing, Hurlburt Field, Florida. After his time in Special Operations working on MC130-H “Combat Talon II” aircraft, he was reassigned to the 37th Airlift squadron Ramstein AB Germany. There he served as both a C-130E hydraulics mechanic and a crew chief, participating in many operations, to include: Operation JOINT FORGE, Kosovo; Operation SHINING HOPE, Albania and Macedonia; Operation JOINT GUARDIAN, Kosovo; Operation ALLIED FORCE, Kosovo; Phoenix Banner, Western Europe; Cobalt Flash, Eastern Europe; Operation LION DROP I, II, III and IV, Aviano AB Italy; Operation ATLAS RESPONSE, Mozambique. After serving in the active duty Air Force, Lt Col Lambert joined the Oregon Air National Guard as a Drill Status Guardsman F-15 mechanic and pursued his education full time. After graduation, he was selected as Kingsley Field’s Environmental Manager and earned his commission as the 173d Aircraft Generation Squadron OIC. Lt Col Lambert continued his time in the 173d Maintenance Group serving as the Component Repair Flight OIC, Equipment Maintenance Flight OIC and 173d Maintenance Operations Flight Commander. In 2010 he assumed command of the Aircraft Maintenance Squadron responsible for 136 airmen and 27 F-15 aircraft. In 2013, he assumed command of the 173d Maintenance Squadron where he was responsible for over 230 airmen, equipment readiness and aircraft repair. He then was assigned as the Deputy Director of Staff, Joint Forces Headquarters- Air Component, Oregon Air National Guard, Salem Oregon. In this role he assisted the Oregon Air National Guard Commander and Director of Staff on all military matters involving there operational units and supporting 2300 airmen of the Oregon Air National Guard. He was responsible for the JFHQ-OR-AC fulltime staff, all headquarters financial resources as well as recruiting and retention for the Oregon Air National Guard.
