U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Charlie Fleek, the 173rd Fighter Wing dedicated crew chief for F-15C aircraft number 78511, goes through the ritual of launching his aircraft, but for the last time as it flies south from Kingsley Field in Klamath Falls, Ore. to its final resting place, the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group, often called “The Boneyard” at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., March 28, 2022. F-15C models are largely reaching the end of their service life after more than 35 years and will be replaced at the 173rd Fighter Wing with the F-15EX in 2024.
