Klamath Falls Civil Air Patrol Squadron holds promise for future emergency services

U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Mari Metzler, a flight doctor assigned to the 173rd Fighter Wing at Kingsley Field in Klamath Falls, Ore., stands with her flight instructor, Ronald, who trained her while she earned her pilot’s license with the Civil Air Patrol in Florida. Today, she is a certified instructor pilot, has her commercial pilot’s license and is instrument qualified; essentially, she has earned every rating she can other than a multi-engine license, although that may be in her future as she is considering a career as pilot when she retires from the Air Force.
